John is a Riverside Accident Lawyer. He has 2 airplanes, 5 bikes and 9 cars. How many total items John has?
Answer:
In algebraic expression, we can represent what John has as 2a + 5b + 9c. In the expression 2a + 5b +9c, each addend is known as a term. Then, John has 100 dollar in his wallet. We can rewrite everything he has is 2a + 5b + 9c + 100.
Based the algebraic expression above, we have four terms, e.g 2a, 5b, 9c, and 100, three variables, e.g a, b and c, three coefficients, e.g 2, 5, 9 and One constant, e.g 100. Constant doesn't have variables attached to them.
Or, we can draw the expression as
2. In an airline ticket room, there are sitting 9 old mans, 18 ladies, 7 men. How many total people are there?
3. An online store sells 120 laptops, 20 gold bars, 28 cerebral palsy legs. How many total items store sells?
